About Reichdrill & RTDrill

Reichdrill was founded in the late 1940s in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania, and is widely credited with developing the first hydraulic top-drive rotary drill rig. Over the following decades, the T650 series became the defining American water well drilling rig — the default choice for contractors from Maine to Texas and beyond.

The T650WS (W = Water well, S = standard) is the most common variant. It combines a deck engine, top-head drive, air compressor, water injection pump, and jib winch on a purpose-built truck carrier. Standard compressors are 900 cfm / 350 psi or 1100 cfm / 350 psi. The T690 steps up with more pullback and air capacity for deeper and larger work.

In 2015, Euroforgroup — a French industrial group — acquired Reichdrill and merged it under the RTDrill brand alongside its other drilling equipment brands. The current production model is the RTD69, a modern evolution of the T690 with updated engineering and manufacturing. New RTD69 units ship at POA.25MM–POA.31MM.

The Reichdrill/RTD lineage offers one of the strongest used-market propositions in water well drilling: deep parts availability, widespread technician knowledge, and a liquid resale market from the 1977 T650 all the way to current RTD production.
